Upper Twyford is the location of Architype’s West office. Created from the ruins of a derelict farm complex, it is designed as a modern sustainable office. Architype was formed in London in 1984, and established a regional based in the West of England in 1988, locating initially in temporary premises. Upper Twyford was developed not only to enable Architype to expand the West office, but specifically to:
• reduce our energy consumption and carbon footprint
• demonstrate our approach to sustainable design
• create a local focus and raise awareness about sustainable business operation
• to enhance our own impact as a business on the sustainability of the local economy
Our main focus as an architectural practice over 20 years has been sustainable design.
